WHAT IS RHINOPLASTY?

Rhinoplasty – nose correction is a surgical procedure that involves surgical remodeling and repairing the structure of the nose. These changes will lead to an improvement in the overall physiognomy of the face, they can affect functional corrections and improve breathing. In the aesthetic sense, it is a correction of the size of the nose, the shape of the nose, reduction or change of the shape of the nostrils, correction of congenital or acquired deformities of the nose.

Most surgeons suggest waiting surgery until the nose growing to be completed.

TYPES OF RHINOPLASTY

There are two types of primary rhinoplasty.

– If extensive remodeling is required, it is an open rhinoplasty, during which the surgeon makes an incision on the vertical bridge between the nostrils in order to access the complete anatomy of the nose.

– In less demanding remodeling, closed rhinoplasty is performed, which involves incisions in the nostrils, through which the skin is separated from the cartilaginous and bony structures, on which the necessary correction is then performed.

PROCEDURE

Rhinoplasty usually lasts 2-4 hours and is performed under general anesthesia. During the intervention, the surgeon will make incisions in accordance with the changes he wants to achieve. Corrections can include reduction of bone and cartilage structures of the nose, lifting and reshaping of the nose, narrowing of the nostrils.

RECOVERY

The healing process is gradual. Swelling and minor bleeding are offten.
